Aluminium
ESA is mainly, but not exclusively, active in secondary aluminum, having as its customers Furnace manufacturers and end users of melting and holding furnaces for recovery and refining of scrap and production of aluminum alloys, as well as furnaces for heat treatment and heating of semi-finished products. and finished products.
For melting / holding furnaces we supply a complete range of long flame or flat flame burners, operating with cold air, preheated air, regenerative burners (up to 6 MW) and oxy-fuel burners.
We also develop accessory systems (from simple torches to customized linear burners) to heat the transport equipment, channel, filters, degassing unit.
Our range finally includes high-speed burners, self-recuperative burners and radiant tubes burners used for heating, homogenization, various heat treatments on semi-finished and extruded products.
ROTARY MELTING OVENS
It is now widely recognized that Oxy-Fuel combustion is the optimal technology when aluminum scrap is melted in rotary ovens, due to the high temperatures and the strong radiant component of the flame.
Our solutions include “high turbulence” burners with power up to 20MW, in the single-mouth version for small / medium-sized rotary ovens or in the multi-mouth version, for larger ovens, which provide a more concentrated flame that penetrates quickly into the load, all to the advantage of the melting-rate and the reduction of oxides and waste.
MELTING FURNACE OVENS
For users of traditional or tilting melting or holding furnaces, there are different solutions to be used depending on the capacity of the basin, the melting rate, the type of scrap worked:
This is why it makes no sense to provide a generic answer to one of the most frequently asked questions: are oxygen burners or regenerative ones more efficient? The answer, invariably, is: it depends, on a case by case basis, on dozens of factors. We are not manufacturers of ovens or end users, and therefore we leave the choice to the customer, limiting ourselves to offering a wide range of solutions.
For reverberatory holding furnaces, in particular, we offer at least two main oxy fuel solutions:
Our AGO-NxT air and oxygen burner, which has two main advantages:
– a long “diffusive” flame exactly identical to that of the ENM-NxT air burners.
– the possibility of using oxygen during the melting phase and going to air during the maintenance phase, considering that molten aluminum requires much less energy to remain in the liquid phase. In addition to the obvious technical and economic advantage of having a double combustion mode, the possibility of switching to air is highly appreciated in those contexts where there are risks of deficiencies in oxygen supplies.
The additional possibility is our “Flame Turning FT” burner, thah, installed on the roof of a reverberatory furnace, can direct the flame in order to provide an evenly heated atmoshpere which avoid the formations of hot spots, as well as, during melting phase, of redirectinbg the flame toward the ingots (or scrap) just loaded into the bath.
For further phases of casting and for transfer, and accessories sistems, we also provide different solutions, really according to the specific requirments and situation.
The burners used are often our HBT torches or more sophisticated Pyroline linear burners in various customizable configurations..
DOWNSTREAM FURNACES
Finally, for the downsteram process of rehating and treatment furnaces, ESA boasts all its wide range of high/medium velocity burners:
- EMB and EMB SIK for cold air.
- EMB-SIK-NxT for recuperated air.
- REKO-SIK-NxT, self recuperative burners LOW NOx.
- RT-NxT, burners for radiant tubes LOW NOx.
