THE MANY WHYS OF OXYGEN
Air: not always the best oxidizer
The use of pure oxygen as an oxidant instead of air by mean of the removal of nitrogen, which is chemically, but not thermally inert, reduces the volume of exhaust gas by 75%, lowering consumption and emissions, requiring smaller pipelines and avoiding use of heat exchangers.
The higher flame temperature also increases the heat transfer rate to the load, thus increasing productivity. Easier mixing with fuel, leads finally to more stable flames, as you have no more problems of air excess or deficit.
High Turbulence oxy fuel burners (HT)
Stainless steel burners up to 21 MW designed to provide intense and quick heat transfer, specially thought for metal melting, frytes, ladle preheating, glass manufacturing purposes. Single or multi head configuration air or water cooling (go to burner page).
Air/Oxy fuel Burners
Flexible burners with refractory head working with air and /or oxygen as oxidants and natural gas or also several other gaseous fuels according to process requirements or oxygen availability (go to burner page).
Hydrogen/Oxygen Burners
This extremely challenging technology aims to meet the needs of the energy transition by using not only hydrogen, but also directly the oxygen produced during the water electrolysis process.
Flame Turning oxy fuel burner
Burners providing even heat distribution into combustion chamber, specially thought for aluminium holding/melting purposes (go to burner page).
Customized Oxy fuel Burners
Burners with particular flame profiles for specific applications (e.g. cleaning ingots). Lances and systems for oxygen enrichment of traditional air burners.
Gas train on Skid and Automation
Customized solutions for the safe supply of oxygen and of any gaseous and liquid fuels. Electronic regulation of combustion ratio according to process requirements, NOx limits, efficiency purposes.
HI PERFORMING OXY FUEL SOLUTIONS
Ambitious targets, complete solutions and superior quality.
Also thanks to its 3000 liters oxygen tank with evaporator in its R&D center, ESA has accumulated vast experience in the combustion of pure oxygen and today offers solutions that differ significantly from what is offered by both competitors and gas suppliers, both for aiming to more ambitious performances and to be complete and featuring superior construction quality.
FAQ
No, when it comes to oxy-fuel combustion ESA only provides complete solutions: burner, ignition system with pilot or electrode, burner management system, power skid and automation. The burner is NOT sold separately, while for the skid only, it can be.
Yes, but only in a small percentage: the oxygen content of the combustion air cannot in fact exceed 27-28%, after which it is necessary to revamp the entire system according to regulations. However, submit us a RFQ .
With the enrichment of oxygen the temperature of the flame also increases, and given the high quantity of nitrogen present in air the balance is an increase in NOx.
